Rina Fukushi

Because of her mixed nationality – her father is Japanese-American and her mother is Filipino – Rina Fukushi is described as a ‘hafu’, i.e. a half-model. She started her career modelling for Mina Perhöen at the age of 16

To date, the beautiful model Rina Fukushi has walked the runway for the biggest fashion brands such as Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton and continues to challenge Japanese stereotypes towards people of mixed nationality.

 

Yuka Mannami

Despite being popularly dubbed one of Japan’s most contemporary It-girls, Mannami actually comes from humble beginnings. She started out as a regular nurse when she was suddenly discovered on Instagram at the age of 23! Since then, she has appeared for brands such as Shiseido and walked the catwalks of Tokyo Fashion Week.

Rila Fukushima

Fukushima made her modelling debut when she walked the runway for fashion designer Richard Tyler’s autumn/winter line in 2004. She later appeared in numerous publications and advertising campaigns before deciding to pursue acting.

Fukushima is now one of the few Japanese models who has successfully made the transition from catwalk to red carpet. She has since appeared in films such as Ghost In The Shell, The Wolverine and Game of Thrones!
